Jim Snedeker – SAX, FLUTE, CLARINET, OBOE & BASSOON Jim started playing saxophone in 4th grade and went on to earn the Master of Music degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is Mass K-12 Certified to teach music in the public schools and is retired Director of Instrumental Music at The Bement School in Deerfield. In addition to teaching, Jim is an active performer. He is fluent in many styles and has played in jazz bands, pop combos, and symphony orchestras. He has performed in over 100 pit orchestras for musicals and operas. And he co-led the flute duo entitled Warm Winds at wedding receptions and parties. In teaching private students, Jim’s first question is, “What do you want to be able to do?” From there, Jim works with you to meet your goals and to become the best musician you can be, while always having fun. Jim’s students have ranged in age (literally) from 6 to 60, and he enjoys tailoring the lessons to each individual. Jim will be happy to meet with you for a free try-out lesson to see if lessons are right for you.
