Tom Williams is an easygoing, talented multi-instrumentalist who has been performing and teaching for more than 35 years. He holds a degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Arizona and also studied guitar at the Frank Rumoro Jazz Guitar Academy in Chicago.
Tom has played piano and guitar in jazz, rock, and country ensembles, and brings that wide range of experience into his teaching. His goal is simple: to help students enjoy their instrument, build confidence, and make music they are excited to play.
Over the years, Tom has taught in music stores, schools, homes, and online, working with students in many different settings and at many different levels.
As a performer, Tom plays the music of Jerry Garcia with The Dead Collective and also performs with bassist Peter Sikowitz in The Jazz Mesmerizers, a duo offering fresh interpretations of the Great American Songbook and classics by artists such as Duke Ellington and George Gershwin.
Tom’s relaxed and encouraging approach makes lessons comfortable and fun, whether you are just getting started or looking to take your playing in a new direction.
