Aidan Klingsberg is a cellist and teacher based in Amherst, Massachusetts. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Cello Performance at UMass Amherst as a member of the Graduate String Quartet program, after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Cello Performance and English Literature at UMass in 2025.
Aidan believes that strong technical fundamentals give students the freedom and confidence to make music well. In lessons, he focuses on building a solid foundation in posture, tone, and musicianship so students are well prepared for playing for their friends and family, as well as orchestra and ensemble playing.
He has experience teaching private cello students throughout Western Massachusetts and has also worked with young musicians in group and chamber music settings. In 2024, he taught group cello classes for elementary school students in the Arlington Public Schools, and he coached youth chamber music at the Burnside Music Festival in the summers of 2024 and 2025.
As a performer, Aidan has appeared with a wide range of orchestras and ensembles, including the Hampshire Choral Society, Amherst College Symphony Orchestra, Keene Chamber Orchestra, UMass Symphony Orchestra and Opus One ensembles, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, NEC Youth Symphony, and the Northeastern Senior and Junior District orchestras.
At the Red Barn, Aidan brings a thoughtful, encouraging approach to cello study, helping students develop strong skills, musical independence, and the confidence to enjoy playing with others.
