About UsWe love musicThe Amherst Red Barn Music School (RBM) is a collaboration of 18 teachers at our studio by the train station in Amherst. The Red Barn is a noncompetitive, supportive environment for sharing the joy of music through lessons, groups and classes. This year, we finished building our classroom, "The Blue Room" and we now have classes and groups. In cooperation with local string teachers, the Red Barn started the Amherst String Academy, where students experience one-on-one attention and gain valuable experience working with top orchestra musicians. The Amherst Children's Choir groups children so they sing music that is appropriate to their age and vocal maturity. In this way, children gain self-esteem and confidence. And have fun. In cooperation with the non-profit Amherst Music Festival Scholarship Fund, the Red Barn accepts scholarship donations for low-income and disadvantaged students.
